“Bajo el cielo de América”: chronicles of the 15 years of América Solidaria

“This is a book that puts a face to poverty figures.” This was stated by the outstanding Argentine journalist Josefina Licitra, during the launching of the book “Under the Sky of America”, held on Saturday October 28 during the 37th International Book Fair of Santiago, and within the framework of the 15 years of the América Solidaria Foundation.

“Under the sky of America” brings together 10 chronicles that address “realities ignored in amazing environments, painful situations in communities willing to move forward or strengths that are duplicated with the support of volunteers”.

On the occasion, Benito Baranda, Executive President of Fundación América Solidaria, and Josefina Licitra, journalist and writer, considered an icon in argentinian journalism: her work “Pollita en Fuga” (click to read), published in 2003, in Rolling Stone magazine, awarded she the Gabriel García Márquez Journalism Award.
